We will prove the claim that Ashdod is the central city of the Philistines and not Azza. We will explain why, geographically – situated on the main sea route and close to water sources. We will study in depth the story of the bringing of the Holy Ark to Ashdod, and we will offer an interesting explanation – why they called the Philistine god: Dagon, and why they sent the Holy Ark to Gath and Ekron and not to Azza. 900 years later, we`ll see the destruction of the Temple of Dagon during the Hasmonean period.
