Testimonials

Read what our participants have to say about their experience.

One testimonial wouldn’t be enough to express how much we have learned from Ben Zion’s shiurim over the years.  The books of the Tanach and the places in Eretz Yisrael have become so much more familiar and meaningful through these weekly lessons.  We are so impressed by how much Ben Zion invests in broadening the perspective of each book or place, and getting the most out of each issue.  It is also amazing how the learning with Ben Zion enriches other shiurim that we hear because we are more ‘knowledgable’ thanks to BZ!

“Magnus Opus”

This (The lecture series on Azza) was truly a magnus opus. Thanks again for extending our horizons with a critical analysis of the past that informs the present and future. יישר כוחך.

“Lessons That Build Character”

Through Levinger’s Torah study, one can feel the clay and the loam of the Land’s soil in one’s hands, and can translate those feelings into lessons that build character

Dear Bentzion,
I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed last night’s shiur about the origins of Tzom Gedalia.
I always enjoy your classes, they bring us new ways of learning about places and events in the Tanach, but last night was special. You presented us a way to look at the events and behaviour through the generations, that lead to the killing of Gedalia, and the loss of our state. Your presentation was new to me and made me think differently about the tzom.
I’ve heard many explanations of why we should and do fast on Tzom Gedalia, but I was never convinced. Your blend of history and reason, interesting sources from the Tanach and mefarshim, really opened my eyes.
Thank you,
Looking forward to your next class,

Put on Levinger’s bifocals and after a while you will begin to situate yourself in the story as an engaged member of the nation, well seated with your own proper place in the Land; and then, quietly and with gratitude, you will see with new eyes the Land’s inner beauty, and if you look very carefully you might just find a goodly measure of peace there, and joy.
